IPCA – Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, in partnership with Atouch Winwel, has launched the first edition of the “Braga IoT Challenge”, a competition that challenges students from IPCA and other educational institutions to develop a product via firmware or hardware, with €5,000 in prizes.
In this first edition, the challenge is to promote the exploration of solutions, applications and project ideas based on Atouch Winwel modules and applied to areas such as home automation, industry, food or the environment. Other areas may be submitted, but they must have their own merit which will be considered by the jury according to its interpretation.
Each team, which must be made up of up to three members, or individuals taking part in the competition will receive a free Development Kit, consisting of three DONA WiFi modules and a USB programmer that will serve as the basis for the project to be developed.
For all the prizes up for grabs, in addition to the money awarded to the winners, there will also be a prize for the proposals with the greatest scientific merit, the costs of which will be covered by Atouch Winwel for dissemination at a relevant conference. Atouch Winwel will also guarantee an internship to the team or member who stands out for their technical or communication skills.
